What is the "CVV Code"?
CVV Code stands for "Card Verification Value Code". It is also known as CVC, CVV2 (Visa), CVC2 (MasterCard), and CID (American Express) number and is a security feature consisting of a three- or four-digit code for "card not present" transactions. This number is printed on your MasterCard & Visa cards in the signature area of the back of the card. (it is the last 3 digits AFTER the credit card number in the signature area of the card).
The American Express CID is a 4-digit number that is printed, not embossed, on the laminated surface of all AMEX cards. It appears on the right border of each card above the credit card number, with the exception of the Optima cards on which it appears on the left border.
