Hotels-General
Is the "star rating" ("standard") for hotels the same as in the US?
Hotels are assigned rating from 1 to 5 stars. In Poland, there is a little more variability in what a given star rating corresponds to and the mechanism for assigning stars is somewhat less structured and consistent.
In the larger cities the ratings usually correlate with, but are not equivalent to those in the US. For example, a "4-star" hotel probably won't necessarily have quite the same ammenities that it would in the US but will almost certainly be of a higher standard than a "3-star".
In smaller urban areas, and out of the cities, you should read the hotel descriptions carefully and not simply rely on the star rating in making a choice.
