What is the difference between "Services available ON-LINE" and "Services available OFF-LINE" in my hotel search result?

"Services available ON-LINE" means that the entire booking, including room confirmation and payment processing can be completed immediately online because the hotel uses an electronic reservation system which interfaces, in real-time, directly to our system.

"Services available OFF-LINE" means that you can go ahead and make a reservation request, but final confirmation of availability requires us to contact the hotel.  You will receive an e-mail from us within 2 business days (local time) indicating whether or not there is still room availability for the selected dates and if your reservation can be confirmed.

This is because some hotels (particularly smaller ones or those located in more rural areas) do not have computerized reservation systems and/or electronic interfaces capable of sending real-time availability information to our system.  Based on the latest update information provided to us by these hotels, we believe that rooms are still available at the quoted prices for the selected dates of stay.  However, a manual confirmation step must be performed by one of our agents in order to guarantee that this is still the case.

We are almost always able to confirm the room but, in rare circumstances, the hotel may be fully booked for the time period of interest.  In this case, our reservation agents will gladly work with you to find suitable alternate accomodations.
